Fatherhood, A Special Bond

God says in the Holy Qur’an:

Thy Lord has commanded, “Worship none but Him, and show kindness to parents” (17:25).

The importance of parents is highlighted in the Qur’an numerous times. Without a doubt, the bond between a father and his child is very special and important. Growing up in a household of all girls, my dad never made us feel like he needed a son. My sisters and I were both his son and daughters.

It was my father who taught me what it means to work hard and to be patient. He taught me to never give up and always believe in God. Most importantly, he created a special bond with me which I carry with me 27 years later.
