My Mother, My Best Friend

Growing up with a concerned, loving, and hard-working mother, I can’t imagine a life without her. I think many can relate to this. Motherhood is indeed a challenging job but there is a reason why women have been given this difficult but rewarding task. In fact, in Islam, women have been given the utmost respect due to this honorable title. The Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him) stated:

“Paradise lies under the feet of mothers.”

This may just be a 7-word sentence, but these 7 words beautifully depict the importance and high status of a mother. A mother sacrifices for her children. She will give up her own life to protect her children. She will go above and beyond to always make sure her children are safe and happy. If this is not pure love, then what is?
